Project T.A.L.K. - Teaching Alternative Life Skills to Kids

Project TALKThe early developmental years are difficult for both children and their families. Children exhibiting high risk behaviors are more likely to experience:

  • Early onset of substance abuse
  • Unhealthy relationships
  • Anti-social and/or criminal behaviors
  • Academic failure

What is Project T.A.L.K.?
Project T.A.L.K. serves children ages 6 through 14 who are at risk for experiencing behavioral problems. The program uses a research based approved curriculum that has produced consistant positive results.

Children will be taught how to:

  • Identify feelings
  • Improve communication skills
  • Learn active listening techniques
  • Improve decision-making skills
  • Learn anger management techniques
  • Enhance problem-solving skills
  • Learn coping and socialization skills.

What does Project T.A.L.K. offer parents and caregivers?
Recognizing that parents and caregivers play a critical role in a child’s life, Project T.A.L.K. enhances their ability to:

  • Provide positive reinforcement
  • Set limits
  • Set boundaries
  • Communication Skills
  • Listening Skills
  • Coping Skills
  • Anger Management

How much does this program cost?
There is no fee or charge for services. Funding is provided by the New Jersey Department of Human Services.
